Andrew Parascandolo

Managing Partner and Commercial Solicitor

Andrew is the Managing Partner of the Firm and Head of the firm’s Business Services. He set up the firm in 2013 after working for two of the largest Law firms in the Country. The ethos of the firm is to provide cost effective, pragmatic and practical legal solutions to SME’s and National Corporates. READ MORE

Andrew has over 16 years’ specialist business experience in areas such as Employment Law, Company Commercial, Commercial Property and Dispute Resolution. Before entering the legal profession, Andrew studied for a degree in International Business and Languages and worked in industry abroad for several years. He then qualified as a Barrister, before transferring to work as a Commercial Solicitor.

Andrew has vast experience of advising large retail clients, on strategic business issues. As well as undertaking business advisory work, he also regularly appears in Employment Tribunals and Civil Courts and conducts his own advocacy.

Out of work, Andrew is Chair of the Leeds Property Association which is an Association of Landlords in the Private Rented Sector based in Leeds. In addition, he is a member of the National Landlords Association Advisory Board, the UK's largest membership organisation for private residential landlords. Andrew is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his wife and children and enjoys going to the cinema, music concerts and on holidays abroad.

Sara Parascandolo

Accounts & Finance Partner & Solicitor

Sara is the Accounts & Finance Partner of the firm and is responsible for dealing with all accounts transactions. READ MORE

Sara is a qualified Private Client Solicitor, and she is also a business graduate with several years commercial experience. Sara is known for her attention to detail and love of numbers.

In her spare time Sara loves spending time with her family, cooking and travelling as well as doing a bit of retail therapy.

Sayid Molik

Conveyancing Paralegal

Sayid is a Conveyancing Paralegal in our Conveyancing Department having joined the firm in October 2022. He completed an LLB Law Degree at the University of Hull and LPC at the University of Law, York. Sayid has an interest in residential conveyancing after obtaining experience in this area of law before joining Powell Eddison and is enjoying being part of the firm’s conveyancing team. READ MORE

In his spare time, Sayid enjoys playing a variety of sports such as basketball, football and cricket with friends and spending time with family. He also enjoys going to the cinema and travelling overseas with his wife.

David Cartwright

Personal Injury Solicitor

David qualified as a Solicitor in 2001, having successfully completed his LPC at York Law School, passing with a commendation. He joined the firm in February 2018 to head up the Firm’s Personal Injury Department. READ MORE

He has spent his entire working career in law, specialising almost exclusively in Personal Injury Litigation. He has a wealth of legal experience in all areas of personal injury to include in particular Medical Negligence, Industrial Disease, Employment Accidents, Public Liability and Road Traffic Accidents.

David recently settled a medical negligence claim for in excess of two million pounds but he feels equally satisfied when settling minor injury claims for just a few thousand pounds, particularly if it has meant him fighting to gain justice for his clients.

He is a hardworking and conscientious solicitor, but outside the office he transforms into a regular bloke who loves having fun with his partner and two children.

Ellie Evans

Private Client Paralegal

Ellie is a Paralegal in our Private Client Department having joined the firm in June 2022. Ellie completed an LLB Law Degree and LPC both at Leeds Beckett University, whilst working in retail to develop a variety of transferrable skills, including excellent customer service. Ellie has always had an interest in Property and Wills and Administration of Estates so is looking forward to becoming a part of the Private Client department and learning from a group of experienced individuals. Ellie works across both Powell Eddison and Avery Walters practices. READ MORE

In her spare time, Ellie enjoys travelling to different countries, experimenting with cuisine and spending time with her family and friends. Ellie has undertaken training as a Dementia Friend.

John Carlisle

Probate Executive

John has worked with a number of practices in Yorkshire having joined a Leeds City Centre practice in the mid 70’s. John joined the firm in 2020 and provides a highly professional probate service to many of the firm’s clients. READ MORE

In his role John offers expertise and guidance to ensure clients fully understand the probate process focussing on their concerns and ensuring they receive the best outcome.

He enjoys the variety of his role as no two jobs are the same and there will often be a new situation to deal with.

In his spare time, John plays snooker & golf. Having in the main retired from cricket he does some umpiring in the Dales Villages evening cricket league and also some groundwork. He enjoys holidays in the sun just to get away from the English weather.

Stefan Mangham

Trainee Solicitor- Commercial Property & Litigation

Stefan is a Trainee Solicitor having joined the firm as a Paralegal in December 2020. Stefan Joined the firm after having completed a LLB Degree in Law and a Masters Degree in Law and Business, both from the University of Law in Leeds. READ MORE

Stefan, having spent some time in the firm's Private Client Department, is now a Trainee Solicitor in the Commercial Property and Litigation Departments. Stefan has gained considerable experience working with senior staff and has become a great asset to the firm. Stefan has undertaken training as a Dementia Friend.

When not at work Stefan likes to visit the gym and is a self taught guitar player with a liking for rock music.

Deborah Williams

Receptionist

Deborah is vastly experienced and has worked as a receptionist and secretary for both solicitors and accountants for 20 years. Having joined the firm in May 2021 she says that the best thing about work is the people she works with. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and then a good book or movie, and when allowed travel. READ MORE

Elaine Tottie

Licensed Conveyancer & Head of Residential Conveyancing

Elaine qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer over 20 years ago and joined the firm in April 2019 after working for a City Centre practice. READ MORE

She deals with all aspects of residential property including freehold and leasehold, buy to let, auction and investment sales and purchases. She also deals with title issues relating to voluntary first registrations of title.

Elaine is friendly and approachable and meets the needs of clients in a professional manner in what can be a very stressful time. Elaine has undertaken training as a Dementia Friend.

In her free time Elaine enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her family and friends. She loves to travel to different overseas places every year and also enjoys the odd cruise from time to time.

Patrick Mulcahy

Conveyancing Solicitor

Patrick is a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor, qualifying in Ireland in 2015 and practicing in the UK since 2017. Patrick has gained vast knowledge and experience in all areas of residential conveyancing including complex Freehold and Leasehold Sales and Purchases, First Registrations, Right to Buys, Shared Ownerships and New Build Transactions. Patrick joined the firm in 2023 having previously worked at a large conveyancing firm in Leeds and has general practice experience pre and post qualification in Ireland. Patrick is not only knowledgeable and experienced, but attentive and friendly, ensuring clients are fully informed and advised of all the legal and practical aspects of a conveyance. READ MORE

Outside of conveyancing, Patrick enjoys playing the violin at Irish Traditional Music Sessions in and around Leeds and attending to his allotment.

Laura Stafford

Solicitor and Head of Private Client

Laura qualified as a solicitor in 2017 and became the Head of our sister practice (Avery Walters Solicitors) Private Client department in 2021. Laura works across both Powell Eddison and Avery Walters practices. The Firm’s successful and growing Private Client department helps our clients with all private client requirements to include Will drafting, trust work, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection applications and Probate. Laura is well known for her sensitive but friendly approach to her clients, putting them at ease when discussing potentially difficult topics. Laura is conscientious, thorough and provides pragmatic and cost-effective advice resulting in our clients coming back time and again for all of their private client requirements, and recommending Laura to their friends and loved ones. Laura is also known for expressing complex ideas in simple terms making the law accessible and user friendly for all of her clients.

Laura is a Trust Estate Practitioner (TEP) STEP member and proud member of Solicitors for the Elderly, as well as a Dementia Friend.

In her spare time Laura enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends and enjoys good food, the outdoors and travel.

Julie Pickett

Secretary

Julie joined the firm in 2019 but has 40 years’ experience of working in a legal office. She particularly enjoys working with the others in her team and especially undertaking personal injury work. READ MORE

Her hobbies include running and keeping fit in general as well as reading.
